Websites for builders

Your finished projects front and centre, your licence and insurance where clients look for them, and enquiries that tell you the job before you ring back. From $500, and you see it first.

Nobody picks a builder in a hurry. A renovation or an extension is the biggest cheque most households ever write to a tradesperson, and they will look at your site several times, show it to a partner, and come back after they have met two other builders.

So a builder's site is the opposite of an emergency plumber's. It is there to build trust over a few weeks. That means real projects, a clear idea of the work you take on, and proof you are licensed and insured.

What actually matters

Five things a builder's site has to get right

Projects, not a slideshow

Each project gets its own short page: where it was, what the brief was, a handful of good photos and the finished result. That is what a client forwards to their partner, and what turns up when somebody searches "granny flat builder" plus their area.

Licence and insurance, stated

Residential building is licensed in every state and most require the licence number in advertising. Home warranty insurance thresholds differ by state too, so check your own regulator. Clients who have done their homework look for both.

The work you actually want

Extensions, knockdown rebuilds, granny flats, bathrooms and kitchens, decks, commercial fit outs. Say which you take on and roughly the size of job, so the $4,000 bathroom regrout does not ring the custom home builder.

An enquiry form that asks the right things

Suburb, type of job, rough budget, rough timing, and whether there are plans yet. You ring back knowing whether it is worth the drive.

How you work, in plain words

Quote, contract, deposit, stages, handover. Clients are nervous about builders, and a page that walks through the process calmly does more than any slogan.

Who this is for

The building businesses we build for

Owner builders turned registered builders, renovation specialists, granny flat and extension builders, carpenters who run their own jobs, and small commercial fit out teams.

See one

Look before you talk to anyone

We keep a working trades layout you can open on your own phone. It is a made up business with a made up number, there so you can see how it reads rather than to pretend it is a client.

What it costs

Three prices, one payment, no monthly fee

$500, from a template

One of our proven layouts rebuilt with your photos, your words, your colours and your licence number. One to three days, two rounds of changes.

$1,000, full custom

Designed from scratch, with a page for each service you offer so each one can turn up on Google on its own, not just your business name.

$250, a fix

You already have a site and one thing is wrong with it: it breaks on a phone, takes ten seconds to load, or shows a "not secure" warning.

Nothing until it is live

You see a free mockup of your own site first and pay once, after it is live and you are happy. The domain goes in your name, not ours.

Fair questions

The things people ask

What does it cost?

A$500 from a template or A$1,000 for a full custom build with a page per project and per service. One payment, no monthly fee. You see a free mockup first and pay nothing until it is live.

I have no good photos of my work.

Most builders have more than they think, on their phone and in the clients' hands. We work with what exists and swap better photos in as you finish jobs. A site with three real projects beats one with twenty stock photos.

Should I list prices?

Not as a menu, because every build is different. A rough guide to the size of job you take on saves both sides time, and the enquiry form can ask for a budget range.

Do I need to show my licence number?

In most states a residential builder must show the licence number in advertising, including on a website. The rules differ between states, so check with your own regulator.

See your site before you buy it

Tell us the business name, the kind of builds you take on and where you work. We build a mockup of your own site and send it over. If you do not like it, it has cost you nothing.
