Websites for cafes
Your menu, your hours and where to find you, readable on a phone in three seconds. From $500, and you see it before you pay.
Somebody is standing on a footpath at ten past eight on a Sunday deciding where to have breakfast. They are not reading about your roaster or your fit-out. They want to know three things: are you open, what have you got, and how far away are you.
That is the entire brief. A cafe site that answers those three in the first screen does its job. One that opens with a full-width video of latte art and hides the hours in a footer sends that person to the place up the road.
What actually matters
Four things a cafe site has to get right
Hours, first thing
By a long way the most looked-at thing on any cafe site. Weekdays, weekends, public holidays, and the kitchen closing before the coffee does. Right at the top, not in the footer.
The menu as text, never a PDF
A PDF downloads instead of opening, cannot be read on a phone without pinching, and search engines cannot see the dishes inside it. Text on the page is also what makes you turn up when somebody searches for a dish you actually serve.
Where you are, properly
Street, the corner people know it by, and honest words about parking. Somebody deciding between two cafes will pick the one whose site told them where to leave the car.
The questions people ring to ask
Dogs outside, high chairs, gluten free, do you take bookings, is there a group option. Every one you answer on the page is a call your staff do not have to take mid-rush.
Who this is for
Who we build for
Cafes, coffee shops and roasters, brunch places, bakeries and patisseries, sandwich bars and lunch spots, juice and smoothie bars, dessert shops, and small kitchens attached to something else that have never had a page of their own.
If people find you by searching a suburb and decide in about five seconds, this is the shape of site you need.
See one
There is a cafe layout you can look at
We keep a working cafe layout you can open on your own phone. It is a made-up business with a made-up phone number, there so you can see how it reads rather than to pretend it is a client. Yours would be the same shape with your menu and your food in it.
What it costs
Three prices, one payment, no monthly fee
$500, from a template
One of our proven layouts rebuilt with your menu, your photos and your colours. One to three days, two rounds of changes. This is what most cafes take.
$1,000, full custom
Designed from scratch. Worth it if you have more than one site, a function room to sell, or wholesale beans alongside the shop.
$250, a fix
You have a site and one thing is wrong: the menu is a PDF, the hours are from last winter, or it does not work on a phone. One problem, properly sorted.
Nothing until it is live
You see a free mockup of your own cafe first. You pay once, after it is live and you are happy with it. No lock-in, and the domain goes in your name, not ours.
Fair questions
The things cafe owners ask
We are busy enough already.
Then the site is not there to find new customers, it is there to stop the phone ringing. Hours, menu, dogs, bookings. Every one answered on the page is a call nobody has to take during a rush.
Can we just put the menu up as a PDF?
It is the most common cafe site mistake. It downloads instead of opening, it is unreadable on a phone, and search engines cannot see what is on it. Text on the page every time.
Our menu changes constantly.
Then it is built to be changed. A seasonal menu is a five minute edit, and small changes are included in the care plan if you want us to do them.
How long does it take?
One to three days once you say go. The slow part is usually getting decent photos of the food, and a phone in good light is genuinely enough.
Free mockup
See your cafe's site before you buy it
Tell us the name, the suburb and roughly what is on the menu. We build a mockup of your own site and send it over. If you do not like it, that is the end of it and it has cost you nothing.
